Taking A Snapshot With A Hotkey

Sometimes you need to take a snapshot to show what is occurring on the screen during a mouse over. Normally, you would click on the camera icon to take a screenshot. As this would move the mouse, it would not have the desired effect. There is a hotkey tied to the snapshot ‘camera’ button, Alt P, for use in this very case. To use it, you need to follow some very specific steps:

  1. The outer part of the console window must have focus. Click somewhere in the top grey bar in the console to give it focus.
  2. Put your mouse over the area you want to capture in the snapshot, but do not click in this area or the focus will be shifted.
  3. Hit Alt-p to take the snapshot.
